Assigning VoIP Services to a Customer
The DTH system can be used to bill both class 4 and class 5 services, even on the same account. The billing is controlled mainly by what device types
you assign to the accounts. Details on each device type are available below.
DIDs (Direct Inward Dial)
Individual DIDs can be assigned to customers with their own plan, included minutes, out-payment rates and cost centers/locations.
Simply click the 'Add DID' button from the customer's account and fill in the necessary information (DID, Plan, Activation Date) as well as the optional information (MAC Address, Username, Password, Location/Cost Center and Out-Payment Rate).
You can use our DID Management module to manage your DID inventory. DIDs can also be chosen by your customers during online sign-up.
Extensions
If we are collecting call records directly from the PBX then it may be necessary to enter the extensions in the billing system so we can match call records to the proper accounts.
Simply click the 'Add Extension' button from the customer's account and fill in the necessary information (Extension, Plan, Activation Date).
Our system supports multi-tenant billing in the event you are hosting multiple tenants on a single PBX.
Trunks
If you are selling trunking services to your customers then you can add that trunk to the account and all traffic going through that trunk will be billed to that customer.
Simply click the 'Add Trunk' button from the customer's account and fill in the necessary information (Trunk, Plan, Activation Date and optional Maximum Channels).
IP Addresses
For wholesale billing, all we need to do is associate the proper IP address to the account and all traffic from that IP address will be billed accordingly.
Simply click the 'Add IP Address' button from the customer's account and fill in the necessary information (IP Address, Plan and Activation Date).
Virtual Numbers
Virtual numbers can be used to share billing information amongst multiple devices on a customer's account.
Let's say you had a business customer on your 'Business Premium' plan which included 1,000 minutes to the US. This customer may have 1 primary DID and 5-10 internal extensions. If you wanted the extensions to 'share' the billing rates and included minutes with the primary DID then those extensions would be configured in DTH as virtual numbers associated to the primary DID.
If you wanted those extensions to have all their own pricing and their own included minutes then you could add them as a straight extension with no association to the primary DID.
Simply click the 'Add Virtual Number' button from the customer's account and fill in the necessary information (Virtual Number, Primary DID, Activation Date and optional Additional Charge).
